Jay Harris has represented a myriad of businesses, including Fortune 500 companies, insurers, insureds, product manufacturers and distributors, major retailers, hotels, property owners, real estate managers, construction companies, owner/operators of oil and gas rigs, oil and gas contractors and subcontractors, as well as companies operating offshore deep-water oil rigs. Jay’s areas of expertise include insurance coverage, appellate law, products liability, personal injury and tort litigation, premises liability, and maritime/admiralty law, as well as contractual risk transfer issues. Jay provides seasoned representation for insurance companies in coverage lawsuits and disputes, including pursuing or defending the insurance company’s position in declaratory judgment actions, defending bad faith claims, analysis of coverage issues and disputes, preparation of coverage opinion letters, preparation of a carrier’s reservation of rights and denial letters, and monitoring significant claims and lawsuits to protect the interests of primary and excess carriers.

Jay also has extensive experience in speaking and providing continuing education presentations for clients on insurance coverage issues, claims handling practices, legal developments and trends, as well as other issues of significance to clients.
