Practice Overview
Charlie Schreck is a partner at Cox P.L.L.C. and an experienced civil litigator whose practice focuses on transportation law, complex tort litigation, and catastrophic loss matters. He has been practicing law continuously since September 2016 and represents motor carriers, freight brokers, logistics companies, and their insurers in high exposure litigation pending in state and federal courts.
Mr. Schreck devotes a substantial portion of his practice to transportation-related disputes arising from trucking accidents, freight broker liability claims, cargo loss, and regulatory compliance issues. He routinely handles matters involving the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, broker carrier relationships, indemnity and insurance coverage disputes, and claims requiring detailed analysis of accident reconstruction, hours of service compliance, vehicle maintenance, and driver qualification. His understanding of transportation operations allows him to evaluate liability early, develop effective defense strategies, and present technically complex issues in a clear and persuasive manner.
In addition to his transportation practice, Mr. Schreck defends clients in a wide range of tort and catastrophic loss cases, including wrongful death, serious personal injury, and premises liability actions. He has extensive experience managing cases involving multiple parties, retained experts, and significant damages exposure, and he is regularly entrusted with matters that demand disciplined case management and strategic motion practice.
Mr. Schreck has served as first, second, and third chair in jury trials and is actively involved in all phases of litigation. His experience includes drafting and arguing dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions of corporate representatives, fact witnesses, and experts, and preparing cases for trial and appeal. He has authored appellate briefs and presented oral argument in both state and federal courts, including matters before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Clients rely on him not only for courtroom advocacy, but also for practical guidance on risk assessment, litigation strategy, and resolution.
Mr. Schreck is admitted to practice in Texas and Oklahoma and before the United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Southwestern University.
